You all know that I rp Santiago in my askblog… some weeks ago he turned into a child and I started asking to myself “how was his childhood, what happened?, did he have a mother/father/uncle/granpa/grandma?, did he grow with his brother Portugal too?”
Because of this I started reading a lot and… oh god, spanish history is extremely difficult! I loved it! Juju and I made some hypothesis… both 2pPortugal and 2pSpain had a mother, Tartessos, aka the first civilization in the Iberian peninsula, if I’m not mistaken, they know about her but they were too little so they can’t remember anything from that period. When the state-city of Tartessos was destroyed, in the 5th century BC, she had to leave her children to the different people of the Iberian Peninsula: Celts, Greeks, Phoenicians and Carthaginians. I like to think that the children grew mostly under the influence of the Phoenicians and Carthaginians’ cultures.
The characters that you see here are the “daddies”, Carthage and Phoenicia (the one with the monkey). Carthage is more of Phoenicia’s little brother who grew up too quickly.
Warning! These are 2p characters! But a nice friend of us is studying old 1p ancients (2pPortugal’s design is from her too!).
Bonus:
I started working on this gif one month ago, with the help of a dear friend of mine, and after some days I was so angry that I stopped working on it. I had to do all the background with the city, moving slowly, and the bushes, and even a lamppost illuminating the character but… ugh, maybe I’ll do it the next month.
This is Adam, from Juju’s comic “Edgar” even if originally he was one of the characters of the Presences Family, an kind-of-horror rp group.
His arm and the suitcase don’t work well and they really look weird. I tried to fix them but for now this is what I can do, I’m having a lot of fun making gifs and studying little movements, hope one day to be good enough to make a little animation on my own.
Yesterday I noticed I didn’t make a 2pRomerica drawing yet so I made a gif. Flavio’s hand was hard to do but yay I did it anyway!
At first I wanted Flavio to talk too but it would have sound stupid for him to keep repeating “goodboygoodboygoodboy”, and his wine should have been white… I don’t think that he would drink red wine, maybe sometimes, it’s a good wine to drink while eating meat because of its strong taste. But white wine, with that background, turned into a weird purple transparent juice so I had to change it… oh well, it’s classy anyway!

I’m using a tutorial for the words and it’s really funny… yes, Antonio isn’t saying anything important, he’s just repeating “niñotomatofrancis” and Gilbert is just sighing and asking to his mind why they aren’t kissing.

I wanted to have some fun with Ulead Gif Animator… Flavio is obviously saying something clever.
I think they are only cosplaying I don’t even know if Santiago knows what the word “cosplay” means but okay.
I like characters with different clothes than usual, and Kick-Ass was a great movie with great characters and I loved all their costumes.

Juju laughed when I said that this makes me laugh… I know it’s a serious drawing and stuff like that but…
I just really like to invert roles sometimes. I have to admit that it would be extremely difficult for Santiago to be in a position like this one, mostly because he’s extremely proud of himself as a man and his “no-homo” shield is too strong. More physically strong the partner looks more he will try to be on top or he would simply say no.
The only way it would be to submit him using your brain or even your appearance (like clothes, or even moves)… as I said before Santiago tends to feel uncomfortable around classy and powerful women, I think it’s the same with men that really looks classy, feminine or elegant.

Flavio = Worst Prince Ever
Another drawing from the ItalianLords Au… being a “bodyguard” during the Renaissance wasn’t only “keeping an eye on him so he won’t be killed or poisoned”, but it included tasks as instructor, nurse, spokesman, and sometimes even “best friend”.
It wasn’t a real job, you didn’t have a salary but you had to do it for all your life. Families from the high bourgeoisie swore in loyalty to other families, usually Kings or Italian Lords (Like the Medici from Florence for example). They gave their lives to them, as servants but from an high class, ensuring to themselves prosperity, money and a life inside high society.
Usually a family did this from generations… you don’t give the life and education of your son to a servant that you don’t really trust.
Flavio: What do you think about… mmh, that one?
Santiago: No, she’s not good.
Flavio: …why not?
Santiago: She’s married.
Flavio: Curious… I don’t see this as a problem.
Another 2pSpamano Au, this time is a little more complicated than the others. Italian Prince(or Lord)!Flavio, dressed as a bourgeois to go around Inns and hit on pretty ladies, and Middle-Class Santiago aka his bodyguard from the time he was ten years old.
This is my first serious drawing with China… and he was one of my favourite characters. Shame on me.
